Our story

From CK Tan & Co to CK Tan Law Corporation.

Mr Tan Cheng Kiong practised for many years under his own name as CK Tan & Co. In 2018 the practice was incorporated as CK Tan Law Corporation, and it has operated from CT Hub 2 on Lavender Street since.

The change was structural, not philosophical. The firm still does what it always did: a broad, general practice serving individuals, families and owner-managed businesses, led personally by the lawyer whose name is on the door.

We act across a wide range of matters. That breadth is deliberate. Most people do not have a single legal problem in isolation. A divorce raises questions about the flat. A business dispute raises questions about a personal guarantee. An accident raises questions about work. It helps to have one lawyer who knows the whole picture.

How we work
  • We tell you where you stand. Including when the answer is that you do not have a case, or that the cost of pursuing it exceeds what you would recover.
  • We explain the cost. In writing, before work begins. Ask us at the first meeting.
  • We do not hand you down. The lawyer you instruct is the lawyer who runs the matter.
  • We speak your language. English or Mandarin, whichever you are more comfortable in.
