What we handle

The work, in plain terms.

Work passes

Employment Passes, S Passes and Work Permits, including advice for employers on their obligations and for individuals on their position.

Permanent residence

Applications and, where an application has been rejected, an honest view on whether an appeal is worth making.

Citizenship

Applications and the supporting documentation.

Long-term visit passes and dependant passes

For family members, including the documentary evidence that these applications turn on.

Appeals and representations

Where an application has been declined, the question is whether anything has materially changed or whether the original submission simply did not present the case well.

Document certification and notarisation

Immigration applications frequently require certified or notarised documents. Mr Tan is a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths, so this is done in this office rather than sent elsewhere.

How it works

Three steps, no mystery.

01

Tell us what happened

A short call, an email or a message. You explain the situation in your own words. There is no charge for finding out whether we are the right firm for you.

02

We give you a straight assessment

What your position is, what the process looks like, roughly how long it takes, and what it is likely to cost. If we think you do not have a case, we will say so.

03

We act, and you deal with Mr Tan

You are not handed to a junior. The lawyer you met is the lawyer running your matter, and you can reach him.

Questions

Questions we are asked.

General information, not advice on your situation. For that, speak to us.

Can you guarantee my application will be approved?
No, and neither can anyone else. Approval is a matter for the authorities and it is discretionary. What we can do is make sure the application is complete, coherent, properly supported and does not fail for an avoidable reason.
My application was rejected. Is an appeal worth it?
Sometimes. It depends on whether your circumstances have genuinely changed and on how well the original application was presented. We will give you a straight view rather than take on an appeal with no realistic prospect.
Can you notarise documents for use overseas?
Yes. Mr Tan is an appointed Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths, so notarisation and the administration of oaths are handled in-house.
Do you advise employers as well as individuals?
Yes. Employers carry obligations around work passes, and it is far cheaper to understand them in advance than to deal with the consequences of getting them wrong.
Next step

Speak to the lawyer who will handle your matter.

Tell us briefly what has happened. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, what the process looks like, and what it is likely to cost.
