For documents used overseas
A notary attests documents so that they will be accepted by authorities, courts and institutions outside Singapore. Notarisation is commonly required for:
- Powers of attorney intended for use in another country
- Certified true copies of passports, identity documents and certificates
- Company documents for filing or registration abroad
- Documents supporting overseas property transactions
- Educational and professional certificates
Some countries additionally require legalisation or an apostille after notarisation. Tell us where the document is going and we will tell you what is needed.
For documents used in Singapore

- Statutory declarations
- Affidavits for court proceedings
- Declarations required by government agencies
- Verification of documents required by banks and insurers
You must attend in person and sign in front of the Commissioner. Do not sign the document in advance.
